Red River Fighting Pike
We are excited to announce the 2012 Red River Pike Curriculum.
In 2012 there will be 16 training sessions, A Hockey Festival to kickoff the season and three AAA Tournaments. The Festival (in Crookston/TRF) will feature newer AAA teams and have four pre-determined games. Each game will be concluded with a five player shoot out (which is used as a tie breaker for all AAA Tournaments). The Festival is designed to get our teams prepared for the upcoming AAA Tournament season which will feature teams formed similar to this program. All players will receive a sublimation game jersey, a practice jersey and socks which will be handed out at the Festival. Some Pike players will have the opportunity to play for the Northland Selects, a challenge series which includes games and an all-star skills competition (see NHG selects page).
The Northland Hockey Group will send all players and families via email and/or team manager a list of all hotels reserved by the Northland Hockey Group to secure better rates and to get all the families together for the Festival and Tournaments. Festival and Tournament schedules will be available 7-10 days prior to the event. Generally, teams will play one game Friday, two games Saturday and one game on Sunday. Teams traveling the furthest for events will be taken into consideration when scheduling. Training sessions will be split ice and scheduled by the head coach and will be spread out trough out the season. The Red River Pike will be generally skate out of Crookston Sport Center. Other arenas may be used depending on ice availability. Generally, practices will begin the weekend of March 24.
