In the Twin Cities we are pleased to be adding quality arena’s in The Burnsville Ice Center, Dakota Arena, and Lakeville’s Ames Arena for the boys tournament. The girls tournament (Formerly the NHG Cup) will be played at the Largest Ice Hockey Facility under one roof at the Schwan Super Rink and Fogerty Arena. The tournament typically features close to 200 teams from seven different states and two provinces. The Mountain Dew Blast tournament will take into consideration travel distances when scheduling. Generally, teams will play one game on Friday (no games before 1:00), two on Saturday and one game on Sunday. Mountain Dew Blast is an Open Division tournament for newer AAA programs and not designed for strong, established programs. Register early, this tournament fills quickly.
The NHG Cup presented by Toughjersey is an annual Open Division Tournament for newer programs who want to compete in a Summer AAA Tournament. The NHG Cup offers levels for both Boys and Girls. The tournament will be played at the Schwan’s Super Rink and Fogerty Arena in Blaine, Minnesota.
The AAA Combat Cup will be played in East Metro Twin Cities arenas including Beilenberg Sports Center, St. Croix Valley Rec. Center and Vadnais Sports Center. White Bear Sports Center and Roseville Skating Center will be used for overflow games.
The NHG Selects is an opportunity for players playing on a Northland Hockey Group AAA team to take their game to an even higher level. Players are chosen by their coach and NHG committee that stand out amongst their peers to represent their area to compete in the Selects weekend. To fill some of the teams we partner with outside organizations and add their top players to join us as well. This creates an even higher level of competition.
