The Opener
Kickoff the AAA Season
The AAA Opener is the first AAA Hockey Tournament of the season. Geared to get teams prepared for the upcoming season, the Opener features a four game guarantee, championship round play on Sunday with certified officials, professional game management staff, game programs and posted bracketing. Kick-off the AAA season and “Let’s Play Summer Hockey!” Two locations (Twin Cities and Sioux Falls) to serve your team. The Twin Cities Division will be played at the Schwan Super Rink (Blaine) & Fogerty Arena (Blaine), with the Scheels Ice Plex playing host to the Sioux Falls Division.
Mountain Dew Blast
The Mountain Dew Blast Boys and Girls tournaments will be played in the finest arenas in Central Minnesota, the Twin Cities, and the Fargo/Moorhead area. In St. Cloud games will be played at The National Hockey Center (home to the St. Cloud State Huskies) and the MAC. The Twin Cities boys divisions will be at many arenas in the Twin Cities, including Fogerty Arena (Blaine), Burnsville Ice Center, Eagan Ice Arena, Health East Sports Center (Woodbury), Doug Woog Arena (So. St. Paul), Cottage Grove Ice Arena, Dakota Sport and Fitness (Prior Lake), Vadnais Sports Center (Vadnais Heights), and St. Croix Rec Center (Stillwater) . The girls tournament will be played at the Largest Ice Hockey Facility under one roof at the Schwan Super Rink and Fogerty Arena. The NEW Fargo/Moorhead boys division will be played at the Scheels Arena (Fargo) and the West Fargo Sports Arena. The tournament features close to 300 teams from seven different states and two provinces. The Mountain Dew Blast tournament will take into consideration travel distances when scheduling. Generally, teams will play one game on Friday (no games before 1:00), two on Saturday and one game on Sunday. Mountain Dew Blast is an Open Division tournament for newer AAA programs and not designed for strong, established programs. Register early, this tournament fills quickly.
Lettermen Cup
The Lettermen Cup is an annual Open Division Tournament for newer programs who want to compete in a Summer AAA Tournament. The tournament will be played at the Super Rink and Fogerty Arena in Blaine, Minnesota.
Combat Cup
The AAA Combat Cup in the Twin Cities will be played in many fine Twin Cities arenas including Health East Sports Center (Woodbury), St. Croix Valley Rec. Center (Stillwater), Vadnais Sports Center (Vadnais Heights), Doug Woog Arena (So. St. Paul), Cottage Grove Arena, Eagan Ice Arena, Burnsville Ice Center, and the Shawan Super Rink (Blaine). The Scheels Ice Plex (Sioux Falls) is host of the Sioux Falls Division of the Combat Cup.
NHG Selects
The NHG Selects is an opportunity for players playing on a Northland Hockey Group AAA team to take their game to an even higher level. Players are chosen by their coach and NHG committee that stand out amongst their peers to represent their area to compete in the Selects weekend. To fill some of the teams we partner with outside organizations and add their top players to join us as well. This creates an even higher level of competition.
Patriot Cup
The end of the AAA Season
The final AAA Hockey Tournament of the season. Geared for the last hoorah, the Patriot Cup features a four-game guarantee, championship round play on Sunday with professional game management staff.
